What this covers
The Hanged Woman is a browser game. This page explains what the game keeps when you play it, whether you play as a guest or sign in, and how to have it removed. You can read the whole page without an account.
Playing as a guest
You can play, and file scores, without an account. The game keeps a random guest identifier in your browser's local storage and uses it to file the run you just finished, so your guest records are yours to claim later. Your display name and your run totals are stored with that identifier.
The world-wide play counter uses a hashed, shortened form of the address your request arrives from, together with a timestamp, only to stop one client inflating the counter. The raw address is never stored, and those entries are deleted after 30 days.
Signing in
An account stores your email address, the display name you signed up with and your role (player or admin). Sign-in is handled by the platform's authentication service: your password is never sent to, or visible to, the game itself.
You may also choose a public handle. It is the name printed next to your scores, and the game keeps a hidden lower-cased copy so two players cannot hold the same handle.
Scores and the records board
Each run you save is stored with your display name, the outcome, difficulty and the run's totals: score, level reached, kills, coins, health, time survived, damage dealt, longest combo, gems and relics collected, weapons used, stars and whether the dragon was defeated.
Your display name and those totals appear on the public records board. The account email or guest identifier stored beside them is used only to work out which rows are yours, and is never shown publicly. Items you collect are kept in a private archive tied to your account.
Gameplay telemetry
Runs played while signed in also save a tuning record: how the run ended, how long it lasted, level, kills, coins, an approximate run value, the weapons used, sampled positions along your route and, if you were defeated, where you died.
Those route samples are reading material for the game's difficulty tuning and its learning signals, and are never shown to other players.
Multiplayer lobbies
A lobby stores a six-character join code, the mode, the host's display name and email, each seat's name and the run totals each player submits. Lobbies expire and are cleared out afterwards.
Messages you send us
If you use the support form, we store the name you choose to give, the email address you want a reply at, the topic and your message. Only the app's administrators can read those messages, and they are used only to answer you.
What we do not do
There are no advertising networks, no third-party analytics or tracking scripts, and no advertising profiles. The game does not collect your location, contacts, photos, microphone or camera. Your data is not sold, rented or traded.
Who processes it
Base44 hosts this app and provides its database, authentication and file storage, so everything described above is stored on Base44's infrastructure on our behalf. Images, sound and video used by the game are served from the same storage.
Some in-game television channels embed players from Google (YouTube and Google Drive). When one of those plays, Google receives your request and applies its own privacy policy; nothing the game has stored about you is sent with it.
How long it is kept
Scores, your handle and your archive stay while your account exists; guest scores stay until they are linked or removed. Play-counter entries are deleted after 30 days, and lobbies are cleared once they expire. Support messages are kept until the matter is closed.
Deleting your account and data
Open the console's MENU, go to Player Profile and choose Delete Account. That removes your leaderboard entries, your archive of collected items, any guest records you claimed, your handle, the tuning records saved for your runs and the account itself. It cannot be undone.
If you played only as a guest, clearing this site's data in your browser forgets the guest identifier; to have rows filed under your display name removed as well, send us a message from the support page naming that display name. You can also ask there for a support message to be deleted.
Children
The game is not directed at children under 13, and accounts are not offered to them.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page changes with it. Questions about your data can go through the support page.
